Our company has been participating in this exhibition for two years now. This time, we are representing three different companies. Two of them are contracting firms, mainly engaged in water and sewage pipeline construction, as well as general construction work. Our third company — SMER — operates in the field of vehicle supply and rental services.
The main goal of our participation is to explore new project opportunities and to promote the areas of activity of our companies. However, such events are not limited to commercial purposes. They also raise awareness about one of the most pressing challenges of the modern world — the depletion of water resources.
Today, water scarcity is a serious threat not only globally, but also within Azerbaijan itself. The drying of the famous Lake Urmia is a clear example of this. Such cases demonstrate that water depletion is not just an ecological issue, but also a major social and economic threat for future generations.
In my opinion, these topics shouldn’t be discussed only within the framework of exhibitions. Even if not on the same scale, it's essential to hold conferences, seminars, public debates, and regional events several times a year to keep such issues in the spotlight. These types of initiatives can contribute — both in Azerbaijan and internationally — to raising awareness and finding joint solutions to ecological threats.
From this perspective, today's exhibition is a highly valuable platform. It allows for the exchange of ideas on both technical innovations and global challenges. The more regularly such events are held, the more progress we can make — as an industry and as a society — toward a sustainable future.
